Traditional varieties of Blueberries were produced in geographic areas where chill hours (cold hours) were available.
In recent years, blueberry production has extended to areas close to the Equator, where there is limited or no chill hours at all .
This has been possible with varieties that are capable of adapting to these new conditions and with new genetics especially dedicated to this type of climate conditions.
This expansion has made blueberries available 52 weeks in different markets.
